FOOD FOREST

Developing & stewarding thriving, resourceful, self-sufficient, and satisfying food forests.

More Info

If you're an individual or organization that is interested in the wellbeing of yourself, others, nature & food, and looking for a great way to recharge and connect with God, your loved ones, community, nature & food; then growing a food forest is an excellent solution. It's a paradise-wonderland that becomes a favorite outdoor area & treasured marketplace; as well as an education, demonstration, and therapeutic place. It provides numerous peaceful, comforting, joyful, healing, healthy, creative, stimulating and rewarding experiences - for all types of people of all ages.

Food forests, just like real forests, are meant to be long-lasting. Since a food forest mimics a natural forest ecosystem, it's important to understand the time it takes to plan, plant, grow, establish, and mature. Patience is needed. A well thought out plan/design at the beginning is critical. Once a food forest is created, it takes 3-5 years to become established. Once established, a mature food forest is efficient, self-sufficient, and resilient. Over time, a properly grown food forest manifests better and better results (with less & less human intervention).

This endeavor will certainly include experiments, trials, some failures, and forbearance. However, the exponential abundance, satisfaction and rewards will be apparent for many years to come.

SOIL HEALTH

Creating fertile living soil that is nutrient rich, biologically active, and ecologically sound.

More Info

Proper soil stewardship encourages healthy, thriving and resilient soils, plants, food, people, animals, and planet.

Caring for the ground beneath our feet creates soil that is healthy, fertile, nutrient-dense, vast in beneficial biodiverse/microbial diverse life, oxygenated/aerobic, well structured, moist, and rich in highly decomposed organic matter.

Living soils (including plants growing in them) are resilient to disease, parasites, harmful insects, adverse climate & environmental conditions (cold, heat, drought, flood, soil erosion, rain, sun, wind, fire, pollution/contaminants, etc); and produce abundant nutrient-dense food for people & nature.

Achieving high-quality soil will take some time, but striving to impact people, nature, and food for the better is worth it.

PLANT CARE

Providing quality plant care to achieve healthy, nutritious, delicious, and attractive results.

More Info

Proper plant stewardship includes tending to the entire plant (variety/cultivar, roots, trunk, stem, branches, leaves, buds, flowers, fruits, nuts), as well as its relationship with other plants, the soil, biology, environment, and climate.

Healthy plants are efficient in cycling sunlight, carbon dioxide, oxygen, sugars/carbs, nutrients, minerals, water, biology, new growth, and food production.

The soil that plants are growing in must be healthy, nutrient-dense, biologically diverse, and well structured.

Proper pruning methods (intensive/stimulating pruning and artistic/precision pruning) also play a vital role in promoting growth, productivity, and aesthetics.

When grown in a nourishing habitat, plants will be resilient to disease, parasites, harmful insects, and adverse climate & environmental conditions. They will produce abundant nutrient-dense delicious food for people & nature.

Good plant stewardship is an excellent investment for yourself, loved ones, community, and planet.
